Feeling the Love & All Aboard the Black Door Bandwagon

I hope all of you had an absolutely lovely Valentine’s Day yesterday!  It was my intention to get on here and wish you a happy day yesterday.  I am one that actually likes Valentine’s Day.  I know a lot of you out there think of it as a Hallmark holiday, but I think any day that spreads some love around is a good thing…even if I know that my husband better treat me the same the other 364 days of the year.  Men, women, do you get my drift?  Buy your significant other flowers or chocolates for no reason on any other day of the year and you will win big.  Seriously.  But, that aside, I’m totally a fan of Valentine’s Day and telling all the people in my life that I’m thankful for them and that they hold a special place in my heart.  That includes you guys, too.  For those of you who come to Scout & Nimble on a daily, weekly or monthly basis, I have to say that it means the world to me and the support that you have shown me is incredible…even if some of you only read and don’t comment.  😉  And boy, was I feeling the love when you all crashed my site on Wednesday and again on Thursday.  If you came here and got an error message saying that the host had exceeded the set bandwidth, I am terribly sorry.   I have upgraded my site to accommodate the traffic and I encourage you to keep coming back.  I was not able to post my planned Valentine’s Day post yesterday, but I’m here today to tell you that you all mean so much to me and I’m so thankful for each one of you.  You’ve encouraged me to take this blog, which was started as a hobby, and turn it into something more.  Thank you all for your support, encouragement and taking the time out of your day to visit this place of mine.  It’s now yours, too…and I hope you feel the same way.

So, what did I do with my “forced” time off (you guys)…I jumped on the black door bandwagon.  I went to Westlake Hardware and saw a black mistint in eggshell for $7 and bought it knowing I was totally going to be a follower.  It’s the “paint your doors” craze and I’m sold.

I have wanted to change up our pantry door ever since I saw Sausha replacing her pantry door.  I hunted and hunted for salvaged doors, but because our pantry door is extremely small it was a tough task unless I was willing to spend an arm and a leg.  I, then became obsessed with black interior doors when I saw what a difference it made when Shelley painted her front door.  Gorgeous!   The tipping point came, though, more recently, when Emily painted her pantry doors and Kate added more color to her interior doors…I just couldn’t get painted doors out of my head.  I.had.to.have.one.

So, here you go…just go ahead and put my name on the bandwagon.  We’ve got ourselves a black door!

Taking these pictures made me realize how much our kitchen and living room have changed in the past year and a half.  I will take some updated pics and share soon!
