Ah, the magic of beads. No matter what project we are styling, beads always seem to make their way into the mix. For good reason - they are effortless, whimsical pops of color and texture that stand out in a space when intermingled with other visual elements. Their simplicity raises them to the top in our easy-styling-toolkit, and we always seem to turn to them for inspiration. Ready to add a bit of flavor and one-of-a-kind appeal to your home turf? Read on to learn why you need to hop on the bead band wagon asap.

The Arrangement

On their own, beads can serve as a key hint of organic, simple beauty. But decorated in a space? Bring on the endless possibilities and minimal-effort. They’re customizable, and can be easily draped, clustered, layered or even hung with art to make a room feel elevated, comfortable and worldly.

Beads are wonderful as an addition to your high-traffic living areas. We’re talking coffee tables, next to books, draped over trays and intermingled with lamps on your bedroom night stand. Not only do they draw your eye to an area of choice, they add some flavor to a minimal backdrop.

Best thing about ‘em? They’re tricky to keep in one arrangement - it adds to the charm! You can toss them in a big clustered ball, guests can play with them and organize haphazardly... anything is possible and they still look fetching. Their organic feel always breaks up lots of geometric shapes, such as books, picture frames and decorative trays.

The Material

Glass

Like a well-loved coastal vacay, these beads feel casual and relaxed while staying versatile and stylish. The movement and shape pops beautifully next to greenery, or adds life to a stack of books. Our beads are indigenously produced and recycled in Ghana West Africa. Just as the form and function of the beads lead with their timeless simplicity, the actual production process is rooted in an ancient tradition. After gathering recycled glass, the artisans crush them with stones into a versatile powder that is shaped into beads. Each unique, handcrafted and well-designed with hints of translucent interest. Yes, please.

We love the shades of blush, dusty gray and aqua blue for their eye-catching allure and layered tonality. Oh, and you can feel good about helping the environment while you drape - the glass itself is derived from recycled sources like old medicine bottles and found, broken scraps that would otherwise remain in disarray in the ecosystem.

Bone

These creamy white beads are so dreamy, soft and elegant, you’ll want to add them to your jewelry collection. But don’t worry, there’s too many uses for these beauties in living spaces to do such a thing. They look great styled on trays, wooden tables and clean white cabinetry. The beads are hand-hewn by artists using recycled cow bone, and the spherical, simple shape are unlike any other - each is individually carved and polished. You can be sure no two are exactly alike, so play with your heart’s delight!

We love beads for adding interest to living spaces and a found, earthy appeal to every room. You’ll want these hints of wonder and whimsy in your design arsenal in the season ahead.

Are you feeling the bead fever yet? Lucky for you, we’re running a flash 48 hour sale on our styling beads. Get your hands on a few and get to styling.
