Home Tour | Heidi Caillier’s N28 Tudor
Entryway & Hall Bathroom
Little details can help tell a homeowner’s story and add loads of character to a space. This home paints a picture of tradition through its intricate wallpapers, vintage furniture pieces and one-of-a-kind art pieces. An aged, black console table provides storage for odds and ends, while also creating a focal point in the hall. Doors of both original wood tones and white add contrast to the home. Modern tongue-and-groove paneling in the bathroom balance against a marble countertop and brass fixtures.
A more traditional blend of color and pattern are present in the home’s living room. A floral pattered arm chair and bold marble fireplace are calmed by clean walls with matching crown molding. Layered lighting is achieved in this space with the help of large windows, a round pendant light and shaded table lamps. An open-base coffee table displays stacks of books.
Kitchen & Breakfast Nook
Color is introduced into the kitchen with painted cabinetry and a distinct hexagonal floor tile. An island with seating for two centers the room, which achieves a semi-open concept through its arched openings to the dining and living rooms. Below a triple window sits a large, white farmhouse sink. A soapstone countertop is continued vertically to create the backsplash, which contrasts beautifully with white tongue-and-groove paneling. The corner of the kitchen features a small eating area with bench seating, a round dining table, and a lantern pendant light.
This dining area, accessible from the kitchen through an arched opening, gives off a more traditional vibe. A tiered chandelier hangs from the ceiling, with a paint color matching the room’s crown molding detail. A muted, citrus wallpaper adds visual interest to a gallery wall of unique china. The large dining table provides seating for eight, and features high-backed armchairs at both ends. Simplistic styling is added to the space with bowls, plates, and candle sticks.
The Master Bedroom
The master bedroom, adorned in hues of pink, yellow, green, and blue beautifully create balance through clean lines and soft materials. Patterned upholstery in the headboard, bed base, and table lamp bring a custom and cozy feel to this space, and the accent chair adds the perfect pop of color.
The Guest Bedroom
The guest bedroom incorporated the paint color from the dining room and a more graphic window treatment. A wicker-style headboard frames the bed, which is dressed in blue linens, , a floral pillow and a light throw. An eye-catching light fixture provides a focal point for the room and visually pairs with the dark bedside table. We’re also loving how color is tied into the room with a striped rug.
An animal-oriented kids room featuring a subtly playful color palette incorporates natural materials and wall treatments. The vintage wooden beds & other wood pieces in this space add a more masculine touch, while a patterned rug and stuffed giraffe seen on the wall keep things playful.
This less formal sitting area brings in a ton of character through a vintage gallery wall, which depicts scenes of quaint family life and peaceful landscapes.
