Hi all! How was your weekend? Ours was a busy one, but we headed into it with that as our goal. Does that sound crazy? You see, here’s the deal…and if you all follow me on Instagram, you know that we sent our 1st born off to Kindergarten last week. It was nothing like I expected it to be. I wasn’t sad or upset…I was truly excited for him and if anything a little nervous. I just wanted him to love it…which he thankfully did. Yay!
It was quite an adjustment for him due to fact that he pretty much stayed at home with me for the first 5.5 years of his life. It was lovely to get the alone time with Oliver, but we did miss him so we wanted to pack as much stuff into this weekend and I think we wore.him.out. He fell asleep on the couch tonight at 6:30pm! Oops…
I’m hoping that with this change in schedule I will be able to post a bit more here which means, of course, more projects to share. And here is one for you. This weekend, on a whim, I decided to organize our closet. Now, please don’t judge me for this mess.
I started by removing the clothes. But, when I took all the clothes out, I insanely decided that I shouldn’t stop there.
The next thing I knew, I was removing all the shelves. The whole time, that voice in my head was saying something to the tune of “stop…what are you doing??? Sam is not going to be happy about this. This wasn’t even on your project to-do list…you are in the middle of 3 other makeovers. You are not listening to me?!?” What can I say? I don’t like to do things halfway and I’ve always wanted a beautiful closet. Thank goodness this man is patient.
This was the look I got when he first saw how far I went on “organizing our closet”. Apparently our definitions differ. I love you, honey! I promise to have this mess cleaned up quickly…yep…that’s
all my some of my clothes.
At least, Cooper doesn’t care, right? And not to tease you again, but we do have a really big project up our sleeves. Like “pie in the sky dream come true” type project. We have been working so incredibly hard on it since around February. I cannot wait to share it with you guys. And it’s been quite the journey to get here…which is a whole different story for another time. I will go into more details in the coming weeks! If you haven’t already, sign up with your email to be notified when our big news is officially released. I promise it will be worth it! 😉
So, finally at the end of a long post, here is a peek at our weekend at the rodeo.
We took the boys and they had the best time. Oliver thought it was hilarious to see the cowboys fall off their horses :/ and that happened a lot.
And Henry even went out to chase the calves with the 5,000 other children.
I was only mildly freaking out worrying that he was going to get trampled…not so much by the calves, but by all the other boys and girls out there.
We had a blast and the boys are already asking when they can go back. I hope all of you had lovely weekends, too! I noticed on Instagram, Ree Drummond, aka The Pioneer Woman…one of my all time favorite bloggers was also at a rodeo. Anyone else take in a rodeo this weekend? Apparently, it was the popular thing to do…;)
