I am so so happy to be a part of Lindsay & Kristen’s Modern & Fresh Fall Series and today I get to share the Fall touches we have made to our house. But before I get to that, I just wanted to say that Kelly from Eclectically Vintage is featuring our home over at her place today. I have always been such a fan of Kelly’s and she took it to a whole new level when she posted about her Sunroom. Not only did she take a room with three walls of windows which can be challenging enough, but she created a space that functions in 3 totally different ways. It’s absolutely brilliant, colorful, fun, and so her. I’m totally honored to be over there today. So, now on to Fall!
Fall is a special time for us…not only is it my absolute favorite season, but it is also a time that we celebrate a couple of special occasions. The first being my hubby’s birthday and the second is our wedding anniversary and so I decided that we should have a festive cheery table setting to make this time even more special.
I have these beautiful serving pieces that were passed down to me from my grandmother and they inspired the color scheme this year. I really tried to use items that I already had on hand. Everything on our table was either passed down to me, thrifted or bought at the dollar store. All I had to do was add in some fresh flowers from the fresh bouquet section of our grocery store and arrange them in a silver champagne bucket…I love the look of mixing metals.
I added in small touches with feathers, cotton stalks, textured ribbon and leather pieces that can be used a million different ways. The scrap leather pieces are sold in bags at most any craft store and I love using them as little accents here and there.
As I was pulling our Fall decor out of our storage closet, I came across a box that contained pieces of my grandmother’s veil that my mom had given to me and my siblings awhile back.
The lace is absolutely gorgeous and I decided it had sat in a box long enough.
I simply wrapped it around some clear glass vases using some double sided tape and I am loving the texture and warmth it brings to this little area of our living room.
I also went crazy with the heirloom pumpkins and gourds. The boys and I love going to the pumpkin patch and I swear we come home with more and more every year.
I filled our dough bowl full and put all the extras outside our front door because nothing says Fall to me like pumpkins all lined up in front of your house.
Thanks for checking out how I added Fall into our home and be sure to check back in with the series tomorrow over at Cuckoo 4 Design with Julia! She is so talented and has such an eye for home decor, you guys, you will not want to miss it. Plus, I think she might have a bit of Halloween in her tour, too, which is always fun. Here is the line up for the rest of the month and if you are just joining us, be sure to go back and check out the blogger’s from the first week of the series. So many great ideas and simple touches that you can incorporate into your home this Fall.
