We hear all the time that people want a home with character. An easy way to create character and add dimension to a space is by installing a barn door. Barn doors are grand and eye catching, and they are sure to bring a unique design element to your space.

We are seeing them used in a variety of ways and rooms. In small spaces, finding ways to maximize square footage can be tricky but adding a barn door can be a great alternative to a traditional swinging door. Although they save square footage in a room, they do take up a considerable amount of wall space, which in some cases, is exactly what one might want if they are dealing with a large blank wall.

Traditional barn doors are generally made from wood, but they can be made from modern metals, or have glass accents. It all depends on the atmosphere you want a room to have.  Here are some of our favorites that might inspire you to bring the look into your own home.  Where would one work for you?
